Helped with my thesis

So, I was drowning in papers for my thesis, and a friend told me about Elicit. I tried out the AI Literature Review and it was pretty cool. It pulled out the main points from a bunch of articles way faster than I could have. The interface was easy to figure out. Made my life a lot simpler, honestly.

Consistent performance

I've been using Elicit for about a year now, mainly for the Research Assistant and PDF Analysis features. This last order was for the annual Elicit Pro subscription. As always, it delivered consistently. The upgraded features like Custom Workflows have been a real boost for my specific project needs. I appreciate that the service remains reliable; I haven't encountered any major issues across my different projects, which is why I keep coming back instead of trying competitors like Consensus or Perplexity. It just works.

Good research tool

I used Elicit's Paper Summarization feature. It worked well. Summaries were quick and useful. Definitely helped with my literature review.

Useful but can improve

I used Elicit for a recent project, specifically the AI Literature Review and Paper Summarization. It was quite helpful for sifting through a large volume of articles quickly. The summaries were generally good, though sometimes they missed a nuanced point I had to go back and find. The initial setup for refining research questions felt a bit clunky, and I had to spend some time getting the prompts just right. Delivery of results was fast, which was a big plus. Overall, it provided good value for the time saved, but there's room for improvement in the question refinement process.

Hey, thinking about signing up for Elicit. Does anyone know if there's a free trial for the higher-tier plans, like Plus?

S Sarah Walsh 1 month ago
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do. I tried out Plus for a bit before I committed. Just check their pricing page, it should say.

Thinking of using Elicit for a big project, but also looking at Consensus. Anyone have thoughts on Elicit vs. Consensus for literature reviews?

P Paula 1 month ago
I've used both. Elicit feels more robust for systematic reviews and extracting specific data points, whereas Consensus is quicker for a general overview. Depends on what you need.

Elicit is way better if you're trying to do actual data extraction and deep dives. Consensus is cool for finding papers quickly, but Elicit does more *with* them.

What's the deal with promo codes? Can I use one if I decide to pay annually instead of monthly?

D Daisy 1 month ago
I used a promo code for my annual subscription last year, so yeah, it usually works. It just applied to the first year for me.

Pretty sure most codes are for the first year of any plan, annual or monthly. I've only ever done annual, saved a bit more that way.

Is there a limit on how many papers I can analyze or data I can extract monthly with Elicit, even with a paid plan?

N Neil 1 month ago
Yeah, there are limits depending on your plan. The Plus plan gives you a good amount, but Pro is where it gets really generous. Check the feature comparison on their site.

Basic has pretty tight limits. If you're doing a lot, you'll hit a wall fast. Plus or Pro is the way to go if you need serious volume.
